Spanish giant, Real Madrid have been confirmed as the World’s highest earning football club after their latest rise in financial figures. The 11-time European champions posted record revenues over the course of 2015-16, with earnings rising 7.4 per cent to €620million. A club statement read: 'Operating revenues for the financial year 2015-16, without taking into account capital gains obtained as a result of player transfers, have topped €600million euros for the first time. This improvement in profitability is due to an increase in revenues having subtracted operating expenses and provisions corresponding to risks and contingencies.'

Prostitutes as young as 16 who were taken to Ibiza for the tourist sex trade then beaten with brooms and sticks if they didn’t bring in €1,000 a day have been rescued by police. The victims, who were lured to the Spanish mainland with fake promises of jobs, were forced to work 14 hours a day. One of the women, police have revealed, was just 16 years of age. The Nigerian Air Force (NAF), during a night operation conducted  on Tuesday , successfully destroyed a new Boko Haram Terrorist (BHT) Camp located between Malam Fatori and Kangarwa in Northern Borno. The new camp is about 4-6km away from the BHT location attacked earlier on 20 August 2016 by NAF Mi-17 helicopter within the same vicinity in a similar night operation that led to the death of about 300 insurgents. The post-strike Battle Damage Assessment (BDA) mission had revealed that surviving BHTs converged at the new location. According to the Director, NAF Public Relations and Information, Group Captain Ayodele Famuyiwa, the information was later confirmed to be true by series of follow-up Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) missions that led to the latest strike. An Urhobo militant group known as the Niger Delta Greenland Justice Movement, NDGJM, has blown up the Ogor-Oteri major delivery line operated by the Nigeria Petroleum Development Company and Shorelines Petroleum in the state. The group in a statement released and signed by its leader, “Gen” Aldo Agbalaja, said they carried out the attack on the oil facility at about 3am. One more trapped victim of the Gwarinpa Abuja building collapse has been found this afternoon with the continuation of search and rescue led by NEMA and FCT SEMA. Unfortunately, however, the victim was dead but his body was recovered after heavy duty equipment were used to remove rubble of the collapsed structure and NEMA team deployed specialized search camera underneath in searching for the trapped victims. On Monday, August 29th, six persons were rescued alive after the four-storey building collapsed at 444 Crescent, Citec Villa, while two persons were still remaining under the rubble. Four men, including a 29-year-old Nigerian man faced court in Perth, Australia on Friday, 26 August 2016 for their alleged role in the importation of around 45.6 kilograms of methamphetamine concealed in timber logs. A joint investigation involving the Australian Federal Police (AFP) and Western Australia Police (WA Police) commenced in June after a sea cargo consignment containing timber logs arrived in Perth from Africa. An x-ray examination of the consignment by Australian Border Force (ABF) officers identified concealment within nine timber logs. ABF referred the matter to police, and a forensic examination was conducted. A total of 106 secreted packages containing around 45.6kgs of methamphetamine were detected. This amount of methamphetamine has an approximate street value of $45.6 million. The death of 35-year-old Nigerian social worker who died at a James Bond-themed swingers party after he told his friend he was attending an evening church service has been ruled as an accident on Thursday, August 25th, 2016 at Herts Coroner's Court. Edmund Echukwu, who was born in Nigeria and lived at Springwood Crescent in Edgware, attended the swingers party at Littlecroft on Theobald Street in Radlett but later died after he was pulled from the bottom of a swimming pool in the early hours of March 28 2015. The father of three told an organiser he had attended before but it was actually his first time. The Kogi state governor, Yahaya Bello was reportedly attacked by some aggrieved residents of the state today August 26th. According to multiple sources, the governor who had gone to the Lokoja Central Mosque to observe his Juma'at prayer, was attacked by some aggrieved residents who threw stones, rotten food and fruits at his convoy as it departed the mosque.   The residents say they are not happy with the manner in which the state governor is managing the affairs of the state. They say they are groaning in hardship and hunger as most of the civil servants had not been paid their salaries.
