The police in Enugu State said they have killed two suspected members of the Indigenous People of Biafra and its security arm.  The police spokesperson in the state, DSP Daniel Ndukwe, disclosed this in a statement. According to him, the suspects were killed at 2 a.m. on Wednesday when police operatives raided their camp inside a forest in the Igbo-Etiti Local Government Area of the state.  He said operatives of the command serving at Igbo-Etiti Police Division carried out the operation in collaboration with members of a Neighborhood Watch Group in the area. He said the operation was conducted in response to a tip-off that suspected IPOB and ESN members erected a camp in the area. “The criminal elements opened fire on the operatives upon sighting them. At least two police officers attached to the Imo Police Command have been killed  by suspected militants of IPOB  The officers alongside a civilian were killed at Akabor in Ikeduru Local Government Area of Imo in the early hours of Tuesday, June 11, 2024.
