Fake Herbalist sentenced to one year imprisonment for fraud (photos)

Lekan Arigbabuwo (pictured) was yesterday Friday July 1, 2016 sentenced to one year imprisonment in a case of conspiracy and stealing before Justice Lawal Akapo of Lagos State High Court sitting in Ikeja.


Arigbabuwo was arrested by the operatives of EFCC following a petition by one Ogundele Oluwatoba who claimed the convict stole and conspired to swindle him of N6.3 Million by posing as a herbalist. Arraigned on 3 counts charge, Lekan Arigbabuwo first pleaded not guilty, but later changed the plea to guilty under a plea bargain arrangement..

House Of Reps Suggest Six Years Term For Governor And President

A group of members of the House of Representatives under the aegis of ‘Reform Minded Lawmakers’ has called for a single term of six years President and Governors among other electoral reforms.  The lawmakers made the call at a press conference in Abuja on Monday. Rep. Ikenga Imo Ugochinyere said constitutional and electoral reform had been a burning topic in Nigeria since independence from Britain in 1960, noting that over the past 50 years, the controversy had led to unrest and deepened religious and ethnic divides. Nigerian man allegedly hacked into bank's electronic mail in Ghana and stole money

A Nigerian man identified as Godwin Onwuneme Udu was arrested at Haatso, Ghana on July 19, for allegedly hacking into a bank’s electronic mail and stealing  GH¢25,000. The deputy director in-charge of the Unit, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Eugene Nyavor, said the management of the bank (name withheld) arrested and handed over Godwin to the police. Godwin allegedly transferred the cash from the customer and transferred it into his personal account at a different bank. He was nabbed by the police and bank officials on his way to withdraw the money from his bank at Haatso. It was also revealed that he been operating with other gangsters and have engaged in another fraud case also being handled by the Documentation Fraud Unit at the police headquarter in Accra.
