Secondus charges Buhari, to reduce battle fronts and tackle problems

The immediate past Deputy National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP Prince Uche Secondus has charged All Progressives Congress APC federal Government led by President Muhammedu Buhari to stop causing more problems for the country and set out to tackle the myriads it already created. Prince Secondus noted that rather than strive to address the major socio economic issues weighing down Nigerians due to the confusion and lack of direction of  the government in the last one year, the APC  is rather busy creating more battle fronts and compounding the challenges of the county. A 24 year old Missouri man has been charged with 4 counts of homicide after killing his grand dad and mum, sister and 3 month old baby nephew by shooting them on the head and setting them on fire . Grayden Denham of Edgerton in Platte County is accused of murdering his grandparents Russell Denham, 82, and Shirley Denham, 81, his sister Heather Ager, 32, her son, Mason Schiavoni, 3 months and a dog in a terrifying homicide case in February. All the bodies were burning when firefighters arrived and had to put out the flames on each body, Platte County Sheriff Mark Owen said at a press conference on Monday. "Upon further examination of the scene, the following details were revealed: Every victim had sustained one or more gunshot wounds. Abia State Governor, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu has filed an appeal against Monday's judgment of a Federal High Court in Abuja which removed him from ‎office as governor over alleged falsification of tax receipts. The Governor, in a notice of appeal filed by Chief Adegboyega Awomolo, SAN, raised five grounds of appeal upon which he asked the Court of Appeal to set aside the judgment and orders of the high court. The governor said that the Federal High Court lacked the power to order him to vacate the seat of Abia State Governor. The notice of appeal reads: "The trial judge erred in law when he ordered as a consequential order that the appellant vacates his office‎ as the Governor of Abia state immediately when there was no jurisdiction in the Federal High Court to remove, vacate the occupier of the office of the governor of a state or order the removal of such officer after the unsuccessful challenge of the result of the election at the Tribunal and swearing in of the ap...

Angry mob last Wednesday, nabbed two suspected cable thieves and tied them to a transformer fence at Anagada village, Gwagwalada Area Council. According to Daily Trust, a resident of the community identified as LLiyasu said the two suspects allegedly went to vandalize a newly installed transformer at the outskirts of the community but a security guard at the village primary school heard strange sounds from the direction of the transformer and raised alarm. "That attracted the attention of some youth who ran after them. One of them was apprehended and taken to the chief’s palace. But luck ran out on the second one who came back the next day to carry the cables inside the sack when he was also nabbed and tied to the transformer fence together with the first one," he said. The two suspects were later handed over to men of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) at Gwagwalada.

The judge gave Monday July 4 for the anti-graft agency and Zenith bank Plc to appear in court with the said evidence. Mr Mike Ozekhome (SAN), had through an exparte order deposed to on the 24th of June, 2016 by Bimpe Olatemiju sought a mandatory order de-freezing the accounts belonging and operated by him pending the determination of his interlocutory application. Joined in the suit are the EFCC (1st defendant) and Zenith bank (2nd defendant). His move comes after four-time golf champion Rory McIlroy pulled out this month for similar reasons, while several other Golf big names have also said they won't travel to South America. Suspected militants attack Ogun Deputy governor

Tragedy was averted  on Monday  in Ogun State, as the the convoy of the Deputy Governor, Chief Yetunde Onanuga, was attacked by suspected militants in the Ibafo area of Obafemi-Owode Local Government Area of the State. Suspected Niger Delta militants alleged to be hiding in creeks in the area, have been terrorising and killing residentslately. The deputy governor and her security team was visiting  some borderline communities between Ogun and Lagos states, which were sacked by the militants. She was accompanied by the heads of security formations in the state to reassure the people of the area of government’s readiness to secure them. The situation changed at Akoka Ebute area of Ibafo, when suspected militants opened fire on the security operatives that accompanied the deputy governor. The gun battle lasted for about 20 minutes. Witness reveals how Dasuki approved $40m for Jonathan’s cousin

The first prosecution witness, called by the EFCC, Ibrahim Mahir, Tuesday, told a Federal High Court sitting in Abuja that former National Security Adviser, NSA, Sambo Dasuki authorised the payment of $40 million in favour of One Plus Holdings. Mahir stated this at the trial of former President Goodluck Jonathan’s cousin, Robert Azibaola. According to Manir, he was instructed by Dasuki to prepare a payment mandate of 40 million dollars in favour of the company. “On Aug. 20, 2014, the NSA endorsed a memo to me which originated from the director of finance and administration in the office of the NSA giving bank details of a company called One Plus. “The memo also gave details of the purpose for which the company was to be paid the sum of 40 million dollars. “The NSA instructed me to prepare payment and my understanding of that was that I should prepare the payment mandate for One Plus for his signature. “After I got the memo, I prepared the payment mandate, sent it to hi...

The Northern Nigeria chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), has lamented, that President Muhammadu Buhari has not been fair to Christians in appointments made. The body stated that Buhari’s appointments so far has been in breach of the law that created the Federal Character. CAN Secretary, North, Barrister Danladi Yarima expressed this while speaking during an interview he granted in Kaduna. According to him, CAN is so far not happy with the choice of the President’s appointment as it has not been fair to its members. “CAN is not satisfied with the appointments of President Buhari so far, neither is the body believing that the Federal Government is fair to its members in terms of appointments. “The question one would ask is that why is it that when it comes to appointments, the federal character principle even when it is adhered to, is always observed in the breach of the law that created it?” he asked. The Inspector-General of Police, Ag. IGP Ibrahim K Idris has appointed DCP Donald N. Awunah as the new Force Public Relations Officer. Until his new assignment, Donald Awunah was the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Homicide Section of Force Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (FCIID) Abuja. He is to replace ACP Olabisi Kolawole who was the Force Public Relations Officer from August 2015 to June, 2016. Outgoing ACP Olabisi Kolawole urged the media and the public to extend maximum cooperation to the new Spokesman, just as the new FPRO promised to work to increase the tempo of good relationship between the Police and the public in line with the policy thrust of the Nigeria Police Force.

EFCC arraigns Pastor in Ibadan over alleged fraud (Photo)

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission today, June 27, 2016, arraigned one Pastor Moses Oluwapelumi Iduye before Justice M. O Ishola of the Oyo State High court sitting at Ibadan, on a 10 count charge bordering on obtaining by false pretence, forgery and uttering of document. One Adeyemi Ronke Bola petitioned EFCC alleging that he collected over N1.2 million under the pretence that he would help her secure traveling documents, but later gave her fake airline ticket and visa. When the charges were read out to Moses, he pleaded not guilty to the charges preferred against him. Oyo State High Court Judge, Justice Ishola, adjourned the case to 12th of July and ordered that he (defendant) be remanded in prison custody.
